ABOUT GBC

OUR BELIEFS

God

We believe in the one true and living God, in three Persons:

The Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit, who is invisible, personal, omnipresent, eternal, dependent on none, unchanging, truthful, trustworthy, almighty, sovereign, omniscient, righteous, holy, good, loving, merciful, long-suffering and gracious.

Man

We believe that God is our creator. Male and female, were created in the image of God. Through the first man Adam, sin entered this world, and it's passed to us. None of us is righteous, we have all sinned.

We deserve God's righteous everlasting punishment in hell. But God being rich in mercy and because of His great love.

He gave His Son (Jesus) who lived a perfect righteous life, who willing took our place to be crucified for us on the cross so that we can be forgiven of all our sins, to live in the newness of life and awaiting the everlasting life when Christ our Lord returns.

Scriptures

We believe that every word in the original writings is inspired by God and is without error.

The Word of God reveals God’s nature and will to all mankind, and because of this it is the foundation of faith and practice.

We affirm that, while Scripture is accurate in all matters, it was never given to be an end in and of itself, but rather as a means to a relationship with God.

OUR HISTORY

The story our church trace back to 2015, when four university students came to Estonia to pursue master’s degrees in software engineering. In Tartu, they found the only English-speaking church at the time, Tartu International Fellowship. As the gospel was faithfully proclaimed from the pulpit by the pastor, and discipleship was carried out during the week by church members and the Bible study, God enabled these to attain a clearer understanding of the gospel and a desire for His Word and at the same time granting salvation to some of these friends who were lukewarm or from Roman Catholic background.

As time went on, these friends, who had become brothers in the Lord, began to move to Tallinn one by one because of employment opportunities after graduation. By 2021, those who had moved first tried to find a church like the one they had in Tartu: Bible-based and gospel-centered, structured according to the regulative principle, and in English. But they found none.

At the same time, their pastor in Tartu desired that they might start something. In the early years, he helped assemble a core team made up of former members of Tartu International Fellowship who had moved to Tallinn. After months of discussions, the church began with Bible studies that eventually turned into a very small, family-like congregation. These meetings happened once a month for some time, and then twice a month with some sort of structure like their former church, based on the manpower available.

In God’s providence, with time, all four brothers eventually moved to Tallinn. They then decided to fully organize the church as a functioning congregation, meeting every Sunday and restructuring it to embrace regulative principle practices such as a call to worship, Scripture reading, preaching, singing, and monthly communion.

As time passed, it became clear that the church needed elders / pastors. For the first three years, the brothers had voluntarily filled these roles. With the help of their pastor in Tartu and other pastors from like-minded churches in Tartu and Finland, two of the brothers, Darwin Sivalingapandi and Isaac Agaba, became the first elders in June 2024. Both are completing their Master of Arts in Theological Studies at Agricola Theological Seminary.

The church continued to grow as God brought His people to us. Some came from Tartu, and many came from different parts of Estonia and the world to Tallinn. After six months, the church added its first nine members. Amazingly, during that same period, a missionary who was sent to join a local church in order later to be sent out to plant a local church in the Estonian language joined our congregation.

As of now, we have three elders: Darwin Sivalingapandi, Isaac Agaba, each with a loving wife and child or children. With twenty-plus adults in active church membership.

In past years, the church met in hotel auditoriums. But due to the complexity and instability of those arrangements, we decided to rent a permanent space, where we currently meet: Liimi 1c, third floor. God alone is to be praised as our church has grown and still growing from a handful of people who faithfully, painfully, and joyfully endured the early years but by God's grace, He is adding to our numbers and today, our church averages around 55 plus people, including children.

In 2025, one of the latest developments was renaming our church from Tallinn International Fellowship Church to Grace Bible Church, in order to more clearly convey what our church is about. We are people saved by grace, living gospel-shaped lives by grace, and we love God’s Word in the Bible, which alone dictates both our worship and our doctrine.

Our church is blessed with loving people who desire to hear God’s Word alone and to serve Him with the gifts He has given them, for the glory of God alone. We are represented by many nationalities as well as locals from Estonia.

We welcome you to come worship the Triune God with us this Sunday if you are considering visiting.
